Weekend Movies 01/25/08

FRESH: 94 94% U2 3D - Do you really love U2 that much to see them on Imax in 3D? U2 have released several live concerts, all of them from better albums. I don't think you need to hear beautiful day live to remember why you stopped listening to this band in the late eighties. If you didn't stop. well... have fun I guess.
FRESH: 67 67% How She Move - In the future all movie titles will be in slang. Can't wait for the Gone wit Wind remake
ROTTEN: 31 31% Rambo - WHO CARES
ROTTEN: 13 13% Untraceable - The internet is out to get you!!! Run away from the keyboard with the candy!!
unrated Meet the Spartans - I'm a sucker for slapstick films like Airplane! and Naked Gun, but these recent pop-culture comedies are as stale as the subject they lampoon. Watch The Soup instead.

Bravo for the Frogs reference, and boo for bashing Rambo.  How awesome is it to see a 70 year old action star? Answer: So so awesome.

I'm really tired of them bring back these old action franchises.  First it was Die Hard, Rocky, now Rambo, and this summer it will be Indiana Jones.  Now I am actualy somewhat interested in the new Indiana Jones, but why exactly Hollywood is resurecting these old franchises?  Enough is enough.

Im looking forward to Indy 4 as well, but mostly because of Spielgerg's involvement. I still have a feelling it will be a disappointment. I'm more excited for The Dark Night, which has one of the best preview trailers in recent memory.

Yeah, The Dark Night looks very promising.  The trailer for it gave me chills the first time I saw it.

In other news, Meet The Spartans was #1 at the box office last week.  So it looks like we'll be seeing even more of these crappy parody movies.
