Weekend Movies - Not part of the Orange Box

Wow, thank goodness for Duke. He's picked up all my slack with all his game reviews lately. It much be nice to have so much free time. I think I only played like 3 games this year. Of course, with an Xbox under the tree I will have a lot of catching up to do in 2008. Expect Duke's Top Games of 07 Soon (right Duke?)

So there are quite a few movies coming out this week. Will any of them be able to stop the one-two punch of Omega Man: Will Smith and Abomination and the Chipmunks? Let's see.

Yeah, i've sure been spending my time off of school wisely!  I'll be working on my top 10 soon, but It's going to be ludicrously hard, especially since I haven't finished Mass Effect (Hell i've barely started it with the gloriousness of the Orange Box).

Yeah, I'm tired of all the Burton/Depp colaborations as well, altough I really liked Ed Wood.  And that Blade Runner box set looks bitchin'.

Mass Effect is the best game this year, hands down. That doesn't mean there's not issues with it, mind you. Bioware just understands that you can fuck with mechanics and shit all you want - if you want a great RPG, it's all about storytelling. Their games never fall short on that front, and ME is no exception.

As an aside - Man, fuck Tim Burton. I've been saying that shit about him for years, and every time I do, some fuckwad has to evoke Nightmare Before Christmas, like it's some Holy Hand Grenade of bad movies, eviscerating any argument that the guy is a total hack. He didn't even direct it! Burton hasn't made a good film since 1990.

Finally, that Blade Runner DVD is like an eyesore for your DVD player.

I do enjoy Blade Runner, but I do agree that the $100 package is obnoxious.

I'm not a big fan of Tim Burton.  Sure, there a few films by him that I like, but alot of his recent fims (except Big Fish) have been duds.

Actually, the Blade Runner Briefcase is only $55.  I think the best value is the 4-disc version wich is only $30.  It has all three versions of the movie, plus pletny of bonus features to.
