Nintendo Wii is the #1 "next-gen" console in the world.

In only 8 months in release, Wii has been able to take over the world by storm. Officially becoming the #1 next-gen console in the world. Pair that with the amazing sales of the DS, and it's plain to see that Nintendo is back in charge. Not since the SNES/GB era has Nintendo been on top of the charts. It seems innovation does pay off, now where is my 3rd party support?
To put a few more nails in the competitions coffin, take a look at these US sales for he month of July. The Wii had it's strongest month since December, during the slowest time of the year. Even with a price drop the PS3 failed to sell more then even the 360. Pathetic. Microsoft has a lot of strong releases and a price drop going for it in the month of August. It will be interesting to see how it fairs in the coming months. Will it be able to top the Wii? Seems unlikely.
