John from Cincinnati Cancelled

It looks like the cult show, will remain that way. HBO has officially pulled the plug after one season of the "surf noir" show, John from Cincinnati. While I find it strange for HBO to pull the plug so quickly, it seems that very few people, besides Duke, are watching. The big question is what will happen to Flight of The Conchords, the other new HBO series? My guess is that it will be sticking around for at least one more season. It still seems a bit hit and miss to become a long-lasting series, but the following on the net is strong, and CD sales decent. Looks like a few people find them funny afterall :()

Just add it to the list of fantastic shows that were simply too smart or too weird for mainstream audiences. But in all honesty, the show really fell apart after the first 4 episodes. There was just too much overacting and all the best characters were secondary (except John).  Still, it's a shame to see something undeniably original go off into the sunset while Tenacious D New Zealand edition will probably get another season.

hmm..speaking of funny shows. Im starting to think 30 rock is the funniest show on television, besides The Office of course. I hope that one doesn't get cancelled, ratings haven't been to sharp. I blame Howie Mandel.

Still haven't given 30 rock a shot, but i'll do so when the DVDs come out.

My newest guilty pleasure is Code Monkeys. Now that's a stupid show, but it makes me laugh.
