I'll keep this brief, mainly because a review of the new Simpsons movie should be pretty unnecessary. All you really need to know is that the Simpsons movie succeeds at satisfying both hardcore fans and casual fans alike. It's also packed with plenty of laughs, I think we laughed (the entire theater) non-stop for the first 25 minutes of the film. After all these years the Simpsons family are as poignant and funny as ever. Animated films often aim for an all ages audience, but can rarely pull it off. The Simpsons is filled with plenty of adult humor (PG-13 deserved), but thankfully no real "message" to speak of. It makes the film a real crowd pleaser, and judging by the audience applause after the film was over, I think it's obvious to say that the creators nailed this one. It's was a long time coming, but it was worth the wait.
